United Way of Cascade County’s Day of Caring
July 25, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
United Way of Cascade County is recruiting volunteers to do yard and house maintenance for elderly and disabled people as part of the annual Day of Caring.
Volunteer teams will rake, clean gutters, wash windows and do other small house projects for local homeowners. United Way partners with Meals on Wheels, Aging Services and other nonprofits to identify more than 50 homeowners who need help.
Half of Cascade County seniors live alone and many seniors don’t have family that can help with house projects that enable people to stay in their homes.
People can recruit a team of four or more people or United Way will team individual volunteers to tackle projects. Volunteers will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday, and will wrap up work between 12:30 and 1 p.m.
Volunteers of all ages can search volunteer opportunities on the www.volunteergreatfalls.org website by their interests and availability and they can also call 727-3400 to learn about opportunities and organizations that need help.
